The 2nd burst of fruiting tomatoes

20160413_090609The 2nd burst of fruiting tomatoes are powering on through Autumn [Mid-April in Auckland, NZ] after the main crop has finished. Here’s the recent harvest.
Cherry tomatoes from self-seeding plants keep on keeping on in out-of-the-way places. They surprise us with delicious red globes peeping out from behind apple branches and the compost bin! Well-fed there!
The golden-yellow assorted varieties are an interesting addition to salads. They seem less acidic, sweeter, than red ones. And they come in quirky shapes too.
